Rev. De Jesus was ordained by the late Bishop William Crossley of Buffalo, New York in 1960. A Cuban native he opened his first pastoral Ministry at St. Peter’s Tabernacle on Vaughan Rd, Toronto Ontario in 1962 with the late Rev. H. Dawson, Evangelist B. Allen and Deacon J. Watson. He preached to the masses in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Polish gaining popularity throughout Canada and the US. He was an accomplished pianist whose musical worship talents would create a buzz throughout the Canadian and U.S. Christian Pentecostal and Apostolic communities. His preaching and music ministry brought many souls to the Cross, however his growing concern and despair that mankind was forgetting and turning away from God convinced him that just serving a single congregation who already knew God was not enough.
He believed that all Christian believers, old or young, regardless of race, nationality, appearance or wealth are ministers, and should be given the opportunity to grow spiritually and spread the Gospel of Jesus as commissioned without having to seek financial aid or face restrictions of Denomination. He wanted to help ‘pave the way’ with quality education and achievable credentials for those new to Canada, those with unrecognized independent ministries, and those with limited finances who cannot afford to enroll at the larger learning institutions. He especially wanted to assist those who sincerely needed the opportunity to enter the ministry to fulfill their calling. The world needs Christian ministers more than ever right now. In Jesus’ day the only requirement was ‘Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men‘. They weren’t required to attend school for years, spend horrific amounts of money to study the Bible or get a PhD. They didn’t need ordination and registration papers however, in today’s age these credentials are crucial to confirm knowledge, integrity, authority and approval by the Church.
With the great commission of Matthew 28:16-20 as his motivation he envisioned and fashioned an Evangelistic Outreach Organization that was comprised of individuals called of God to labor in the vineyard of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This Organization would empower them to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to non-believers, sinners and those who never had the opportunity to hear God’s Word. This Organization would enable independent ministers to operate their ministries under the blessings of God, and also under the blessings of the law of the land (so many doors are opened for them). This Organization would serve to help sincere ministries obtain those needed credentials.
Elevated to the status as Bishop, Bishop Ignacio De Jesus continued to preach and evangelize throughout Ontario and New York but was particularly instrumental in spreading the Gospel to third world countries via short wave (HAM) radio. This was a lifelong skill he developed while employed as a Radar & Communications Technician in Guantanamo Bay. Sometimes short wave radio was the only means of communicating in some areas, especially in times of crisis. Scheduled sermons would be preached via Morse code and a translator would yell the words out to a waiting congregation on the other side of the world. Praise God!
York St. Peter’s Evangelistic Organization become a Christian Religious Body (not a Church but a Denomination) in 1968, one where all Christian believers are welcome, putting the squabbles of doctrine aside. In 2008 Bishop De Jesus was once again elevated to the order of Archbishop and today York St. Peter’s Evangelistic Organization is a well respected Religious Body in Canada, small like the country of Israel, but we are doing great things for God our Father.
Archbishop Ignacio De Jesus D.D. Ph.D went to be with the Lord in 2014 at the age of 81. He was prepared and very ready to meet his maker. His vision and contributions to the Church will be remembered and will go on as we continue to equip and elevate those who have a sincere calling to spreading the Gospel message.
We Are of the Christian Protestant faith, not Roman Catholic as our name may suggest.
We Are a duly authorized and recognized Christian Religious Body (aka Denomination) in Ontario alongside other well known Christian Denominations of different beliefs and worship.
We Are Interdenominational. That means we don’t care if you’re Baptist, Pentecostal, Anglican or belong to any other Christian Denomination. As long as you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, He died on the cross for our sins, eternal life is ONLY through him, and you pray and worship Him only, we welcome you.
We Are governed by a Governing Official and Board of Directors. We have been registered with the Canadian government authorities since 1968 and are subject to the laws and regulations of the provinces in which we are Incorporated.
We Are a charitable Organization. Our Organization is funded through donations, contributions and tuition fees.
We Are an Organization that does not support same sex relationships or marriage.
We Are Not a Church but an incorporated Religious Body (otherwise known as a Denomination) that is governed by a Governing Official & a Board of Directors. There are several Church ministries under York St. Peter’s governance for Registration purposes.
We Are Not involved in Church planting. We expect those coming to us will have a reasonable and achievable ministry plan.
We Are Not an online ordination service and neither do we accept credentials from online ordination mills. A calling to the Ministry is a serious venture; therefore, ordination is not hastily given. All ordination candidates must undergo diligent study beforehand. We make great efforts to ensure that our members are of sincere faith, rightly dividing the Word of Truth, are of good character and are competent in the ways of preaching, teaching, baptizing and Christian counseling.
We Do Not ordain or grant credentials online, by mail, or for a fee. Credentials are given only to those who have studied the Gospel and/or currently have experience in an active ministry. All must undergo examination and approval by the Organization and Church body prior to being recommended for ordination or government Registration. Ordination credentials are only issued at a scheduled ceremony.
We Are Not at a public location that is open for drop-in visits or to submit applications. We are an online entity and all of our Programs are initiated online and completed with onsite examination.
We Do Not compete with other Christian Education Organizations and Institutions. What we offer is an opportunity for Christians to study seminary-level courses at affordable prices for those who are on a low budget, or do not have denominational ties in Canada. There are many wonderful Christian colleges and seminaries worldwide. We encourage all to pursue further training with them if your circumstances allow.
We Are Not an accredited school. We are a recognized Christian Religious Body that is fully authorized to teach and credential ministers in the Christian faith. YSPEO offers the same seminary-level courses as most Theological institutions, only at a more affordable price with ordination awarded. Transcripts are not provided or shared with other Institutions. The Holy Bible remains the sole root and foundation of all of our teachings. oth
Our vision is to teach and promote those who have a sincere calling to the ministry. We offer these new workers for Christ, as well as those who are already ordained, high quality Scriptural study and Clergy credentials in a legal and affordable manner. We help them to move forward in their own independent ministries; to participate in outreach programs, evangelism, provide Biblical counsel, pastoral care and Godly marriage unions within Ontario. Our membership of ministers provides a network of Christian family Ontario-wide.
YSPEO is involved in World Wide Outreach. We send tracts, Bibles and other Biblical resources worldwide as made possible. We know that spiritual warfare is very real so we acknowledge and teach about Deliverance Ministry. Our vision is that of a Gospel-based Organization who equips powerful witnesses and leaders for Christ, those who are not afraid to GO boldly and spread the Gospel message, the ‘good news’, and lead lost souls to the cross. It is our goal to equip and empower followers of Jesus Christ to preach, teach and baptize according to our Lord’s instructions; therefore we wholly promote the Great Commission of Matthew 28.
We do this to the glory of God!
We are a Christ-Centered Organization that is focused on spreading the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and winning souls for His kingdom. We do this by enabling godly individuals with sincere intent, and scripturally correct teaching who are called to preach, baptize, to spread God’s Word to all that they encounter. We use all means available to us to spread the Gospel including pulpit ministry, street ministry, evangelism, marriage, counseling, music ministry, publications, radio broadcast, online, short wave radio, tracts, and by any other means possible.
After 55 years as a government recognized Religious Body, York St. Peter’s Evangelistic Organization continues to be blessed with fantastic members, affiliates and some mighty impressive graduates. As we are living in the end times it is our ongoing mission to equip those who are called to the ministry, and unleash some powerful leaders and witnesses for Christ upon the world.
We are a Christ-Centered Organization that is focused on spreading the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and winning souls for His kingdom.
