The REAL Meaning Of Christmas
It is that time of year again, December has come with all its joy and splendor. But what is the real meaning of Christmas? Is it the lights in the windows, the gifts under the tree, turkey dinners with family and friends, and shouts of "Merry Christmas" or maybe better to say “Happy Holidays”! However, Christmas may not necessarily be a happy time for many who don't have the resources for Christmas luxury, or simply when their loved ones are not be able or willing to come home.
Yet, Christmas can be a season of great joy for all. It is the moment when God’s great love to us materialized by sending His one and only Son to be a sacrifice for our sinful nature. It can be a time of healing and renewed strength. God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world to be born His birth brought great joy to the world, shepherds, wisemen, and angels, all shared the excitement of this great event, they all knew this was not an ordinary baby. The prophets had told of His coming hundreds of years ago (cf. Isaiah 9:6). The star stopped over Bethlehem just to mark the location for those who were looking for this special child. We can truly be happy at Christmas no matter what may be happening in our lives, at this time, we are reminded that we are God’s unconditionally loved children, hence, heaven will be our home one day.
Look at Christmas in a new way this year. This is the year to invite Jesus into your heart. You will then have a "Merry Christmas." The joy and peace you will receive this Christmas will last not just for this year, but a lifetime. Jesus Is the Reason for The Occasion, Rejoice!
